The Trail Canyon Trail is roughly 4.7 miles long passing several Permitee cabins and Trail Canyon falls and Tom Lucas Trail Camp until it meets the spur off Mendenhall Ridge Road and Condor Peak Trail. The trail was formerly a road so the grade is gentle but the trail has many stream crossings along the lower portion of the route. Tom Lucas camp has stream water nearby and was a car camp long ago. I've camped here several times. Tom Lucas was a ranger in the early days of the Angeles National Forest and hiked the Big Tujunga region bare foot hunting game dressed in buckskin
